::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::BRIXTON MORTAR GIG REVIEW:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: First of all, i'm so sorry about the delay guys!! My boyfriend was in town for the week and then I got food poisoned at a 70th birthday party ... but i know, i know - there was no excuse to keep you all waiting like that. But here I am, ready to tell all in my first ever music review. Now gather around children... When I got out of Brixton station that Thursday evening, the sun was still shining, the streets around Coldharbour Lane were still buzzing and everyone was all smiley and mellow. It was the perfect evening vibe for the perfect summer gig. As we find our way to the Ritzy with Victor's summery tunes swimming around in my head, I couldn't help but think how great a music video this will make! As we weave around the happy people along the street, I've got 'Hear the Sound' in my head, there are kids laughing and larking around and the people in the cars that pass us by seem to be smiling and bopping along to Victor's summery samba beats. It was the prefect prelude. But anyway, for those of you who couldn't make it, I took a couple of pics for you. [I've never tried to upload pics on forums before so I hope I hope the code works!] So here's the sign with Victor's name on it - woo hoo!! and gig itself: My phone's camera is not the most responsive to dim lighting, and since the place was packed, it was also pretty tricky finding a gap in the human wall to take a snap. So i only managed to get Jozef and Vic in the picture. [Sorry Kerim.] This was taken during Gold and Diamonds - one of my many favourite tracks in Hear the Sound. As always, I never think Victor's gigs are ever long enough - neither do I think he does enough encores [he can never do too many!], but for me, this gig was really well and truly one of the best London gigs he's done. The vibe all round was relaxed and jovial, the band had such fun, and despite the hand cramps he was having, Victor brought the roof down at the Ritzy with a rocking version of 'Don't believe a Word'. It was just as if he was playing to room full of old friends! A thoroughly great time was enjoyed by all. My boyfriend, our friend Jamie [who came all the way from Boston!] and I had such a great night, Thank you Victor!!! Can't wait for Jazz Café on the 14th July!! [Oh, and Victor, if you're reading this, please please please please please can you play 'Girl'? You didn't play it at the Groucho Club and you didn't play it that night at Brixton Mortar. Please play it on 14th!!!] So that's it from me! I'm sorry it took me a while to get round to writing this, hope it was worth the wait. Still finding my way around with this forum business, but if i've missed anything out, let me know. A xx

Hi alleroif!! Thank you so much for your review!!! Wish those of us in the states could have been there...but we'll get our chance!!! As for the code...I think that's a myspace code, so I'm going to try to post it over there on the Street Team Group and see if it works. If it does, I'll try to get the IMG code out of it so we can post it over here. Stay tuned...I'm not very technical...but I'll give it a shot. It worked!!! So, I've modified your original post and deleted the second one where you tried the code again...hope you don't mind!!! Don't ask me how I did it...but wahoooooo....because I am soooooo not technical!!!! ;D
